Sub: Service by Scouts and Guides of Bharath Scouts and Guides, Bangalore North
District to the Victims of the Recent Floods in Several Districts of North
Karnataka

Scout and Guide Greetings to you Sir / Madam,
The Recent Flood in North Karnataka has claimed the lives of more than 100 people. This Calamity has devastated over 1000 villages and left lacks of people homeless.
We just cannot imagine the misery faced by their relatives and especially Children. The Loss of Crops, Cattle and Fodder amounts to Crores of Rupees. There is no Food to Eat and Water to Drink for over a lack of people. In such a circumstance we have to extend our helping hand. It is our “Dharma” as Scouts. Since our Motto is “Service” and “Be Prepared” We must rise to the occasion to extend all possible help to the needy in the Recent Floods by strengthening the hands of the Government and rebuild the lives of our fellow citizens. All the Scouters, Guiders, Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers have to exhibit the skills they have learnt like First Aid, Pioneering etc.,
As per the letter no. BSG/SHQ/922//09-10 by the State Chief Commissioner, the Bangalore North District Association has decided to extend our Helping hand to the affected people of the Floods.
Hence we request your kind help in achieving our goal by sending your Scout Masters, Guide Captains, Cub Masters, Flock Leaders, Rovers and Rangers working under you to join us in the LOCAL ASSOCIATION WISE ROUTE MARCH on the DATES AND TIME NOTED AGAINST EACH LOCAL ASSOCIATION ( GIVEN ON PAGE NO 2 ) Each Scout / Guide / Cub / Bulbul can feel glad that he or She has actively participated in the Community Service undertaken by the Bangalore North District. YOUR KIND COOPERATION IS SOLICITED

01. LOCAL ASSOCIATION WISE ROUTE MARCH by All the Scouters, Guiders, Rovers ,Rangers,
Scouts and Guides IN FULL SCOUT AND GUIDE UNIFORM through the important Commercial
Hub and Streets of your area and collect MONEY, CLOTHES , FOOD ITEMS, ESSENTIAL
THINGS etc., which can be of some use by the Flood affected people..
02. DONATION OF Rs. 50/- to be collected from each and every SCOUTER, GUIDER,ROVER AND
RANGER and a DONATION OF Rs. 10/- by every SCOUT , GUIDE, CUB AND BULBUL of the
School.This Amount can be collected by the Scout Masters / Guide Captains / Cub
Masters and Flock Leaders and hand over the money to the District on the date fixed
for the Route March. (Contributions from other Students and volunteers are also
welcome)

All the Collections from all the Local Associations are pooled in and the Total Amount will be handed over to the Chief Minister through our State Chief Commissioner. The Route March will pass through the Important Commercial Streets of the Concerned LA. The Scouts and Guides will go from shop to shop and Collect the donations with Sealed Boxes.

01. KINDLY ADVICE THE PARTICIPANTS TO HAVE SUFFICIENT BREAKFAST AT
HOME AND COME PREPARED WITH LIGHT PACKED LUNCH AND WATER BOTTLE
02. PLEASE RISE TO THE OCCASION, LET US SHOW THAT WE ARE SECOND TO NONE

VOLUNTARY SPOSORING OF BISCUITS, SNACKS, DRINKS ETC.,TO SCOUTS AND GUIDES ON
SERVICE ARE WELCOME FROM SCHOOLS, PARENTS AND PUBLIC
