            Bharat Scouts and Guides, Karnataka, Bangalore North District has proposed to hold the 3rd Rover / Ranger Moot at Coonoor / Ooty from Thursday the 25th to Sunday the 28th February 2016..

            The Heads of the Institutions are requested to send maximum Number of Rovers and Rangers along with their Rover / Ranger Leaders to participate in the 
Rover / Ranger Moot and oblige. The Absence of the Staff members attending 
the Camp may kindly be treated AS ON DUTY (Ref As Above ).The Details

07.  HOW TO REACH THE CAMP : Catch the Evening or Night Train to 
      Coimbatore      from Bangalore City or Yeshwanthpur. After Reaching 
      Coimbatore Change over to Platform  where the Train leaves for 
      Mettupalyam. Board the Train to Metttupalyam. After getting down At 
       Mettupalyam Catch the Mini Bus or Town  to Coonoor.. Again at Coonoor
      Bus Stand catch a Mini Bus going to Ottupattarai , Stanley Park   
     where Campsite is situated. 3 to 4 persons can join together and take an 
     Auto which will bring you to Ottupattarai / Stanley Park Campsite directly.
    RETURN JPURNEY: Catch the Mini Bus / Auto to reach Coonoor Bus Stand.
   From there Catch a Mini Bus or regular Bus to Mettupalyam. 
From  Mettupapalyam board the Train to Coimbatore. From Coimbattore Change 
 over to platform where you will board the Train to Bangalore  or  Yeshwanthpur. 
 For availing the Concession purchase tickets from Bangalore to 
Metupalyam  and Back.

 SIGHT SEEING / STUDY TOUR     Arrangements have been made for Sight 
Seeing At Coonoor and Ooty by Bus on Cost sharing    Basis. This will 
approximately work out to Rs. 250/- per Head.  The places of Visit  
are the famous Botonical Garden, Doddabetta, Boating   and Amusement Park, 
Pasteur Institute, Pykara  Dam, etc.,

01.      Rover Crew and Ranger Team should have paid Unit Renewal fee of Rs. 194/- per Unit per Annum. For the years  2011-12 , 2012-13, and 2013-14 and 2014-15 .          receipts of the payment of Renewal Fee to be produced. Please Ignore if already        paid.
02.      Camp Rules must be followed Strictly.
03.      List of participating Rovers and Rangers have to be sent with their Names and          Age duly certified by the principal .
04.      Risk certificate should be attached along with the letter as per the Format given
            in page 4.

SRILANKA TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1:
  • Arrive at Colombo airport in the morning Welcome with garlands and transfer to Kandy.
  • En-route stop to visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Visit a Herbal Spice garden and enjoy a free head massage at the Spice garden
  • Continue to kandy
  • Visit the Kandy city - Upper Lake Drive, Wood carving workshop, Gem museum and factory,
  • Evening visit the Famous Temple of the tooth (Dalada Maligawa) and enjoy a Cultural dance show.
  • Overnight in KANDY
Day 2:
  • After breakfast visit the Famous Royal Botanical gardens.
  • Next raedy to travel to the Hill country (Nuwara Eliya), via Ramboda - Visit the famous Ramboda waterfalls and a tea factory.
  • Check into hotel.
  • Pm - Enjoy the hill country, visit the Lake Gregory, Golf course, Strawberry farms etc. Enjoy Boat rides an Horse rides on the Lake Gregory. Visit the Famous Victoria Park
  • Overnight stay in NUWARA ELIYA.
Day 3:
  • After breakfast leave for Colombo, via Kithulgala - Famous location for white water rafting and adventure sports activities
  • Visit the Kithulgala river.
  • Check in to hotel by afternoon.
  • Visit the Colombo city - Galle face, Pettah floating markets, Independance arcade
  • Visit the Mount Lavinia Beach

CHENNAI- COLOMBO - BENTOTA

Report to Chennai International Airport  @ 0300 Hrs to board your flight AI 273 to Colombo. Flight departs @ 0600 Hrs. Arrive Colombo Bandaranayake International Airport @ 0720 Hrs, meet and assist by our local representative and transfer to Bentota. Breakfast enroute to Bentota at Restaurant. Journey takes about 3 hours by Road (140 Kms) Arrive and Check in Hotel Club Bentota (Standard Check-in time is 1400 hrs, Early check-in subject to availability). Lunch at Bentota, remaining day free at the beach side resort. Evening take a picturesque boat trip on the ‘Madhu Ganga’ river.River Safari in Madhu Ganga : The primitive life style of the inhabitant of the islands of the Madhu River is only a boat ride away. The boat ride takes us through the thick mangroves and abundant the bird life, to reveal the primitive style of fishing and prawn trapping still practiced by the inhabitants of the islands. Dinner & overnight stay at the Resort.

Day 2
BENTOTA - NUWARA ELIYA

Breakfast at the Hotel. We check-out and proceed to Nuwara Eliya (200 Kms - Takes about 4 hrs), enroute we visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Here you could observe all about the process of manufacturing tea. You can also see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Arrive and Lunch at Indian Restaurant. Check-in Hotel and Afternoon free for own activities - Evening go for a short City tour of Nuwara Eliya. Dinner & Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 3
NUWARA ELIYA - KANDY 

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Kandy (96 Kms - 2 Hrs). Arrive and check-in Hotel Swiss Residence.  Lunch at the restaurant. Kandy - the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings. The name Kandy conjures visions of a storied past, splendour, legend, folklore, mystery and traditions lovingly kept alive for countless years.


On arrival we do a city tour of Kandy - a World Heritage Site. Drive around the Kandy Lake, the Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. Thereafter witness a cultural show. Dinner & over night stay at the Hotel.

Day 4
KANDY - COLOMBO

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and proceed to Colombo (116 Kms - Takes about 2 Hrs 30 Mins), enroute we visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela, which is a home to about 60 Elephants found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. Also, accompany the Elephants to a river close by to see them having their daily baths.  Lunch at the  restaurant. 

In the afternoon do a city tour of Colombo, observing the old Parliament, the residential areas and the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall), A Hindu Kovil, a Buddhist Temple, Observing the Galle Face Green and visit Fort Bazaar. Shopping is never an end in Colombo - visit House of Fashions, Majestic City shopping complex, ODEL Unlimited Dress Boutique, Noritake Ceramic Showroom, Barefoot Gallery and Lakmedura Handicraft Centre. Overnight stay at your hotel in Colombo.  Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

Bangalore North District organised an
 Award Presentation Ceremony
 on 12th December 2015
 at Stella Maris High School, Malleshwaram. 
Sri. P.G.R.Sindhia .
State Chief Commissioner,
 gave away the Awards. 
Sr. Irene. 
Principal of Stella Maris School 
was the Chief Guest. 

She expressed her happiness that so many Senior Scouters and Guiders were honoured in her School. The District honoured 
Sri. P.G.R.Sindhia 
for getting the Highest National Silver Elephant Award. 
Miss. P. Saroja and Mr. Narasimha Murthy 
were honoured for getting the Bar to Silver Star and Silver Star. 
( Both National Awards ).
Sr. Irene was also honoured for her encouragement to Girl Guiding. The State Chief Commissioner in his yarn Complimented the Bangalore North District and all the Awardees. 
Mr. Prem Kumar DC (S) , Mr. B.K. Sheshadri 
were awarded the Bar to Medal of Merit. 
Mrs. Vanitha Narayan DC (G), Smt . S.K. Prabha, Jt. State Secretary , Mr. A.M. Shankar, ASOC , were present. The meeting was conducted efficiently
