9TH ASIA PACIFIC REGIONAL AIR - INTERNET JAMBOREE FROM 3RD TO 4TH AUGUST 2013

BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES, KARNATAKA
BANGALORE NORTH DISTRICT
Scout / Guide Greetings to you sir / Madam,!

The Asia-Pacific Region of WOSM is pleased to announce the 9th Asia Pacific Regional Air-Internet Jamboree to be hosted by Bharat Scouts & Guides, India from 3 - 4 August 2013.
The Air-Internet Jamboree is a regional event established in 2004 in which Scouts contact each other by means of amateur radio and through the Internet. Having a live conversation with a fellow Scout in some other place in the world gives the same excitement like having a normal Jamboree on the land. Just like the normal Jamboree, the Air-Internet Jamboree is also an event during which Scouting experiences are exchanged and ideas are shared. It’s a great and unique opportunity for Scouts of all age ranges to communicate with each other as if they are nearby when in actual fact they are all in their own countries. Indeed, Radio Scouting eliminates the distances and fosters a closer relationship of the worldwide Scouting movement.

he APR Air/Internet Jamboree is a wonderful platform for the Regional Scouts/Guides to “meet” and establish contacts with one another in real – time since there is little time difference between our countries. NHQ would like to urge your all to disseminate this information as widely as possible to all units in your State/District so that young people will have the opportunity to take part in this event.

opportunity
to communicate worldwide, in real-time, in a number of languages.

C) EchoLink: - Echolink is a system that connects Amateur Radio Stations to each other
via the internet. In fact, you did not need to any amateur radio equipment to make a contact with

National Air-Internet Jamboree Stories:- With your help, the World Scout Bureau APR Can
compile an overview of the Air Jamboree weekend and make it available to all participants. Of
Course, the information has to come from the participating Scout groups in your district state
associations so you may wish to ask them to prepare a report. And send to Bharat Scouts &
Guides, State Headquarters for onward transmission to NHQ & APR Office.

Let us give opportunity to our Scouts/Guides to have a wonderful time during the 9th APR Air/
