ROVER RANGER MOOT AT MUPPANE FROM 18TH TO 21ST SEPTEMBER 2013

            ROVER , RANGER MOOT ORGANISED BY THE BANGALORE NORTH DISTRICT AT MUPPANE FOREST, NEAR SAGAR, SHIMOGA DISTRICTFROM 
18TH SEPTEMBER 2013 TO 21ST SEPTEMBER 2013
                       
            Bangalore North District had organized a Rover Ranger Moot at Muppane Forest, near Sagar Shimoga District from 18th September to 21st September 2013.

            Muppane was chosen for the Sheer Beauty of Nature,  the Protection of the Forest Department and pleanty of Water at Disposal and abundant availability of Flora and Fauna. The participants were all from the newly formed Rover and Ranger Units of various Colleges in Bangalore North District.

            The Advance party comprising of Mr. Shankar, ASOC, Mr. Daniel Sukumar, Asst Secretary, Mr. Vikas , Quartermaster and Mr. Ganapathy, Rover Leader of Tilak Rover Crew reached sagar on 16th September 2013 for making the necessary arrangements for the Camp which included obtaining the permissions for visiting Jog Falls, Linganamakki Power Generating Station..

            The Participants along with Mr. B.K. Sheshadri, District secretary arrived on 17th Morning at Talaguppa Railway Station . they were served with a Hot Cup of Coffee and Light Breakfast. Then tey were taken to see the World Famous Jog Falls and Linganamakki Reservoir and Hydel Power Generating Stations.  Finally they arrived in the Campsite at Muppane.

            The Rangers were allotted Dormitory, The Rovers were allotted Tents. The Office Materials and Male Staff were accommodated in a small Room, while the Ranger Leaders wee accomadated in the Pargola converted into living Quarters.

            Heavy Rain did not hamper the spirits of the participants. Very Soon the participants had proper Breakfast. The Flag was hoisted and the Moot was declared open. The sessions started with the introduction to Scout Movement. There were Audio Visual Sessions covering the Life of Lord Baden Powell , Rovering to Success, Nature Study, Advancement of Rovers and Rangers, Law and Promise, Vigil etc.,.
         
            The practical Training  included Basic Knots, Nature Walk, Dialy Campfire, One Cooking Session, Group Discussions, Quiz etc., The participants thoroughly enjoyed the Cmp and learnt lot about the movement.

            The Last of the Camp was dedicated to Sightseeing. They were taken to Ikkeri, Keladi, Varadalli, Sigandhur, Aride in the Launch, and were dropped back at Sagar Railway Station. The ride in the Lauch run by the Inland Waterways Dept was really enjoyable. The Dinner was served at Sagar Railway Station. The efforts of Mr. Ganapathy, RSL of Tilak Rover Crew and Official of the Local Association of Sagar were laudable . The Success of the Camp is also due to the untiring efforts of Mr. A.M. Shankar, LT ( R ) and ASOC, of our District.

            The participants returned to Bangalore with the pleasant memories of the Camp
